chets camera tip - for ski pictures play with the AWB which is probably the up arrow button that is above your menue. set it to +1/3 to +2/3 or try backlight(down arrow) or try the snowman function.
in automatic ski pics the subject usually ends up being too dark as the camera trys to make the snow grey
carie's pics had real good color. so maby you already know this.
I usually spot-meter off of a gray object and then manually set the exposure. I think Carie just leaves it on the default meter. I'll have to teach her the finer points of spot-metering one of these days. Too bad multi-spot average metering is so hard to find on any camera under $5K these days...
